Professional Information
Recent Productions
- Medicbatteries.com - Working for Canopy Commerce, I developed in Magento to port an existing e-commerce to a more flexible solution. My work included creating tools and extensions for bi-directional syncing with Constant Contact lists, product promotion and recommendation, local taxes, as well as custom shipping rules and methods.
- Downtownportland.org - North brought me on to help with a complete site refresh. I began updating, improving and increasing the integration of many existing components, including WordPress, CodeIgniter, Google Maps API. I also had the pleasure of working with HulaHub to bring new features and faster speeds to an ajax calendar application from Travel Portland.
- Swellpath - I've helped with their WordPress website, and helped a couple of their clients. Most recently, I've been helping them create custom time-tracking reports with Harvest API.
- Tango Card - I was Senior Engineer for their first and second iterations of web development. We created a web-presence and internal API for their unique stored value card and gift card tracking platform. Since our business model didn't match any off-the-shelf e-commerce system, and needed to be lean, we built it up from platform level. I did a bit a bit of system engineering, security, web design implementation and a lot of programming. Technologies included Zend, jQuery, Amazon EC2.
- Six Apart - I was called upon to review the WordPress plugin for TypePad Conversations. I looked into some security, a bug with older versions, and tightened up a few parts of the code. Though it was already a very well-constructed plugin with great support, the debugging proved worth calling me in.
- MOTO Development Group (currently offline) - For a refresh of the labs.moto.com WordPress blog, I implemented a design, researched and applied plugins, and created supporting theme functions. MOTO was purchased by Cisco before this project could be completed and their web assets taken offline.
- Girl Effect Tab - Working for Wieden+Kennedy on this Nike Foundation project, I created an application in cached static FBML within the limits of Facebook's tab, using the facebook api and Google's YouTube API. The programming included automating daily and weekly retrieval and normalization of diverse data and error reporting. It was a fun challenge to work on such an elegant design within the constraints of Facebook's changing roadmap.
- Black Diamond Equipment - Swift Collective hired me to work on back-end and front-end changes to this ongoing project. Technologies and tasks include jQuery, Google Maps API, geolocation, ERP integration with Magento, retailer data wrangling, and site automation.
- Ryz website - In preparation for Magic: The Gathering design contest and other great plans, I helped pump up ryzwear.com. I further customized and extended the Zend-based social networking platform they had installed. I touched up the Content Management System, and did some Smarty template work.
- Six Apart/TypePad WordPress Plugin - I had the opportunity to work with Six Apart and offer their AntiSpam and Media services through a WordPress plugin. It became a big deal within hours of being introduced. (See it on github)
- nshrine.com - using jQuery, Paypal, Google Checkout, OpenId, LAMP, all layout, database and programming
- nshrine's twitter instructions - a twitter bot checks for messages and places candles in nshrine, many features
- wingmail - announce bot re-publishing content to twitter users
- arcalus.com - WordPress-based website
- oldoregonphotos.com - Magento e-commerce installation and custom extensions and design elements. in progress
- alamedametalworks.com - site that ranks very highly in search engines and generates a lot of leads
- rejuvenation.com - makes millions with a business-logic product configurator, a guided-selling product suggestion service, and a 3D-rendering service for visualizing custom product, I built, and now maintained and extended by some great people
